(1604) with members
brought from Arequipa on account of the fre–
quent earthquakes there. It is of modest architec–
ture, and has many valuable paintings, the most
conspicuous being t.hose of the Cuzco
~rtist
Juan
Espinoza de los Monteros. There are also 1many
tablets, the best ones being those placed on the
walls on the left side, where also stands the coat
of arms of Bishop Molin do, benefactor of this
Order.

The

na tic house of Santa Teresa was
found ed in 1673
by
Andrés de Molinedo in the
name of his · cousin, Bishop Manuel de Molinedo.
Antonio d Zea gave to the convent the sum of
100,000 pesos. The convent of Santa Teresa had
been the house of doña Ucenda Loayza y. Bazán
and \vas r estored to accommodate the mona-ste–
ry. The temple has but one nave of quadrangular
shape and the interior walls are ornamented
