The tradition of the Brothers Ayar symbol–
iz s the heroes of four brother tribes which gave
o··i .o'in to the Inca dynasties. Of these four broth–

Ayar Uchu, Ayar Oachi, Ayiar Aucca and
A. ar l\íanco, the first three were
turned
into
stonc, only the fourth, Ayar Manco, surviving. In
Mach u Picchu the!'e still exist the ruins of an
difice with three windovvs which is believed by
Professor Hira1n Bingham to have antedated this
tradition.
