U RUGUAY.

T he railways of Uruguay radiate from Montevideo and connect on tl1e west and

nor h with tbose of Argen iue, Paraguay, aud Brazil. Tbere are now 400 mile cou–

structed aml much more projectetl, principally toward tbe Braziliau frontier.

A general railroad law was eoacted

in

by a commission of engineers as worthy of construction, and which named also the
