Io this manner, without other attendance than his own private Family, he em–
barked , and on the

be'executed and obeyed, laying a Tax or Impofition on the
People according to the numbers of thofe

as he went and caufmg chem to be executed, without admitting any Pecition or
Argument

proceeding was not jufiifiable without hearing the ObJelhons they

unto the contrary, and chat rhe Laws were not

be

with.out knowledge

cure; it being exprefly fignified by his.

publi!hed in Court in prefence of the Vice-king and four Judges. HowCoever the
Vice-king, unmoved by any reafons or perfuafions proceeded refolutely to exe–
cute them, threatning thofe who refufed to obey them, the which firuck greac
cerrour and confufion into ·the minds of the People, confidering char the Laws
were general and cornprehenfive of all fort of People without any qualification
or refiriction. And herein this Vice-king was

he difpatched his EmHfaries before him to the
City

and to
Couo;
giving them
to
underftand, that he being arrived with–

him, and that thereupon the Commiffion and Command of

fuperfeded.
