to Cuzco a quick ánd ready reference to its greatly treasured
historical and archreological features.
This is not by any
mea.nsan article intended to criticise his–
torically, neither is it written with the idea of .its being strictly
educational.

of
complyng with an
immediate demand of the tourist in the form of a simple guide,
clear and ready of reference, so that the visitor to puzco may
thereby conveniently and in elligently study and observe what
is of importance ana wortil.y of admiration of the ruins and relics
treasured in

pi'illenary city; also to aid in .so far

possible
in the correct formation of he visítor's impressions· and in the
conservation of his observations.
While the data contained in this guide are amply guaranteed,
bistorically and documentary, by personal research and by the
ca.reand assiduity with which the author has endeavored to clearly
and intelligently give form to the facts collected, nevertheless his
intention is not to ,argue, but to dnfo;nn.
